Help support a child or adult with a disability access vital therapy this winter with a gift of just £25.

As the Bobath Centre embarks on an exciting journey relocating to new Watford premises in early 2019, we want to ensure we are well equipped to maintain the safety, care and dignity of our clients when undertaking manual handling during their treatment sessions with us.

We are a small charity and rely heavily on voluntary donations in order to continue our work, so we are asking if you would please consider donating £25 towards our Tracking Hoists Appeal. Your support will mean that we are better equipped to assist the children, adults and families who already face so many challenges.

The Bobath Centre provides physio, occupational and speech & language therapy for children and adults with cerebral palsy and neurological conditions. Our specialist therapists see each child or adult as an individual, and tailor therapy accordingly so that every person gets the most out of their time in any session. Every minute is valuable.

Where full assistance is needed to lift any person out of chairs, onto beds, the floor, or onto the toilet, we need to hoist them. Using a hoist protects the client as well as the therapist. Hoisting can often be seen as less convenient or a step backward but if we can model to families and carers the safest and most comfortable way to transfer their child or family member, we ensure protection of their long term health and future care.

To install the latest Tracking Hoist Systems into all of our treatment rooms, it comes at a mighty price of circa £10,000. But, this new system would allow us to move a person anywhere in the room quickly and effortlessly, enabling us to focus more on treatment. There is even potential to use hoists with a harness to practice walking.
