Story
Hey! Welcome to my JustGiving page!
On 16th May 2015, I will take to the streets of London and aim to complete a 26.2 mile walk in my bra! That sounds crazy right? Here is why I'm doing it.
Somebody in the U.K every 10 minutes is diagnosed with breast cancer. That's around 55,000 people each year.
Just under 12,000 people a year lose their battle with breast cancer in the U.K.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the U.K.
There are 550,000 people in the U.K living with breast cancer.
All money raised will be going to "walk the walk" charity who have already done some amazing work in researching breast cancer. They also offer physical, emotional and spiritual support to breast cancer sufferers.
So if boobies have ever made you smile, pay them back and donate here.
Donating:
If you're reading this, it's most likely you have come here from my facebook. I have 300 facebook friends. If everybody could spare just £1, do the maths! How amazing would that be?
I would urge everybody that pays tax to simply click the gift aid button. All you have to do is tick the box, it doesn't effect you in any way, all it means is that the charity gets a massive extra 25p to £1 (instead of the government! Surely we're all up for that?)
Now for a fun (optional) incentive. Although I have my best friend in form of my Mum by my side, I would like to take some music to keep me going. So for every £1 you donate, please leave a song to add to my playlist. £5, 5 songs, simple! You can either torture me with your music taste, give me something energetic on the tough miles, or you can make me smile with a song that reminds me of you. You choose! Please leave them as a comment when you donate.
Along with all the really important fundraising, this is also a really exciting personal challenge for myself. All encouragement in the form of donations, kind words and walking buddies will go a long way.
