Every 22 minutes in the UK a child is bereaved of a parent - through accidents, illness or suicide. The incidence of childhood bereavement in young offenders can be ten times higher (41%) than the national average (4%)
The death of a parent or sibling is one of the most fundamental losses a child will ever face.
Here are some real quotes from the Winston's Wish website:

"I held my little brother in my arms when he died knowing that he was never gonna open his eyes again"
And some quotes from people who have been helped:
"For the first time, I feel like someone is listening"
"When I go to Winston’s Wish there are other girls and boys who have a special person that has died and we play together”
"Winston’s wish helped me to know that it is ok to talk about it...."
