Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.

It was 3rd June 2017, I was meeting my friend in London and heading to a Silent Disco. We stopped in Borough Market for a drink, 45 minutes later we were disturbed by crowds of people running and screaming, my world changed from this point.

I rushed outside of the bar and heard chatter that someone was under the bridge, surrounded by blood. It was then that I met and said goodbye to Sebastien in the space of 5 minutes. I went from trying to find wounds and stem the bleeding, to trying to save his life and complete CPR for 45 minutes.

It is now almost the third Anniversary of the London Bridge Terrorist attack. For the first anniversary I travelled with Sebastien's friends and my family to his home in Angers. On the second anniversary, I had finished attending the Inquest at the Old Bailey in London and was able to 'visit' Sebastien in Borough Market.

Unfortunately due to Covid-19 I am unable to make the journey to visit Sebastien or any Family or Friends for the third year. I still would like to do something to mark this year so I have decided to cycle the distance from London Bridge to Angers, Sebastien's home town. That is 341.2miles.

I am a complete novice when it comes to cycling. Since August 2017 I have been on a bike twice and that was in the past month. Covering a mere 16 miles. I would not be able to complete 341.2 miles in one day so will give myself from the 3rd June 2020 (anniversary of the terrorist attack) until the 30th June 2020 (anniversary of day I met some of his friends and family and finally felt like I may have helped somewhat).

I have chosen the charity MIND to give any donations to.

"Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling.

We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We'll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner."
