Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Gurkha Welfare Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
I have been foolishly enticed into competing in the KingSturge property triathlon, as part of the Atisreal team - please note is actually the 11th July not the 18th. As a result of this I thought I should really try and raise some money for a good cause - the Gurkha Welfare trust raises money for the 10,000+ ex Gurkha servicemen who have served our country yet don't receive a military pension. The trust provides basics food and healthcare to these forgotten heroes and their families. It is also a charity close to my heart - my Grandfather trained and served alongside the Gurkhas in the late 1940s and '50s in Burma, he described them as not only the most dedicated and highly skilled soldiers, but also the kindest, good humoured people he ever had the privilege to work with. I have dusted off my 200m bronze swimming award (proudly awarded back in 1993), have just invested in a vintage racing bike, and may take my flipflops off to swim 750m, ride 20k, and run 5k in the triathlon on Friday 18th July. I would be most grateful for any donations you could make - please bear in mind all money raised will be going to a very worthwhile cause. Cheers Oli
