A good week of training this week. Hit about 20 miles in total and will be upping the ante this week with a few more morning run to work.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October 2009 our second baby daughter - a then nameless 2lb 9oz Annabelle - unexpectedly arrived into the world at Gloucester Royal Hospital a whole 12 weeks early, making it a very scary and daunting place for Tarma and me.
Moments after Annabelle had arrived, she was taken from the delivery room and whisked down to the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), where countless strangers got to work on her, making sure pipes, wires, tubes and beeping machines were all set up in the right position and place. For weeks, the only contact little Annabelle could have with her mummy and daddy was through small portholes in the sides of her incubator. She was tiny - not much longer than my outstretched hand, and every limb was being used by some tube or other.
However, thanks to the tireless, devoted and caring special attention afforded to her by the incredible people at SCBU, Annabelle slowly managed to increase in weight and slowly became healthy. Only after many fraught weeks did Tarma and I finally dare to look for light at the end of the tunnel.
Money raised by this Just Giving page will go directly towards the vital charity Scoo B Doo, which supports SCBU by purchasing the most advanced equipment available to help save the lives of other babies just like Annabelle. If you wish, have a look at their website, to see more of the great work they do: www.scoo-b-doo.co.uk/
I guess you might like to know what great idea I've come up with this time. I will be running 100 miles. In 3 days. It's not so bad, because I'll be starting from Wales and running through to Cheltenham, so that will give me more of an incentive to go fast!
I appreciate that times are tough and I have had other Just Giving pages requesting fundraising in the past, but please, please, please help me help SCBU help these babies. Quite simply, many wouldn't be here if it weren't for them.
Once again, thank you very much indeed.
