Thank you all for your tremendous support.
The cycle started at Lochgilphead Parish Church Hall at 10.15, with a rousing send off from supporters, pipes and drums. Thank you all very much.
This was the highlight of the day because the weather deteriorated very quickly and by the time I reached Clachan, I doubted whether it would be wise to continue. The decision was made for me when I was called back to work at the hatchery. The situation improved a little in the afternoon and I was able to cycle back to Lochgilphead.
Determined to complete the challenge on the Sunday morning, I set off to Lochgilphead at 8.30 and arrived in Lochgilphead at 10.00. The strong S/SW wind blowing me along the shores of Loch Fyne.
Thank you for the generous welcome at St Margarets. Braving the wind and rain, I returned to Clachan by 1.10.
You can see from the photographs it was a triumph over the elements!
I had planned to complete the cycle in 6 to 8 hours given a fine day and a fair wind. I think 104 miles in those conditions over a 27 hour period is pretty good going for an old geezer like me!
I hope you will continue to support M.A.L.I.
