Charity bike ride thank you and update...
Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored me, Max and Frankie on saturdays bike ride to Brighton. It was a definitely a day of two halves.
The day started off well, we met at Wandsworth at 8.00 and started off on our ride. Other than the ridiculous amount of hills we had to negotiate the day was going really well. We'd just passed the M25, the sun was shining and we were about to hit the half way mark when things took a turn for the worse.
Unfortunately, whilst heading down a steep hill heading towards Dorking, Max took a tumble, after his bike slid from underneath him, crashing onto his shoulder and fracturing his collar bone.
After walking a couple more miles it we managed to find a pub and call out an ambulance to pick Max up. Luckily the very friendly Ambulance staff picked Max and Frankie up and took them to Epsom hospital, where Max received treatment for a confirmed broken collar bone. The pair of them eventually made it home, back to London late that night where Max is now recovering.
Not wanting to continue alone, I headed down to Brighton on the Dorking train, where I met some friends and broke the bad news.
Most of our sponsors have paid online already, and I wish to thank them all again for their generosity. I will be doing a local London ride to make up the distance to complete the sponsored ride. If you haven't paid, we understand if you do not complete your payment but will obviously be doubly as grateful if you do.
Thank you again, to all the sponsors, the Ambulance staff and Max.
Jimmy B
On Saturday September 3rd, Jimmy B, Frankie and Max Bontoft will be cycling from London to Brighton in aid of MacMillans Cancer Support.
1 ride, 2 Brighton by 3 blokes 4 charity!
We know its dark difficult times for everyone at the moment but please, please dig deep and sponsor us, if not for charity but to see three grown men struggle, puff and pant 55 miles in a day!
We will be harassing you all in the mean time and would love to see you in Brighton for our arrival. Contrary to belief, we're aiming to arrive late afternoon, early evening on Brighton pier... Not the following Wednesday!
We will all be posting updates of our route and more on our Facebook pages, so please help out and get involved.
Thank you to you all.... Jimmy, Frankie and Max
