My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. On the day before Good Friday my younger sister had a Road Traffic accident on Sheffield Road in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. The conclusion to this was that she had a serious brain injury and that she had to have emergency brain surgery to stop the internal bleeding. Surgeons told us that she had a 50/50 chance of survival plus a chance of severe brain damage if she did survive, but thanks to all the hard work and devotion of the staff at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in sheffield she made an excellent recovery and is now after 2 months in intensive care and 4 months in hospital and rehab, back at home with her family. As a thank-you to the staff I have decided to climb the Great Gable Mountain which has a height of 2949 ft, it is the 4th highest in England. Through this I want to raise awareness that the job these people do is amazing and life saving, all money raised is desperately needed to help them buy new equipment and hopefully enable them to do what they did for my sister, to someone else. I am not the healthiest of people, and I have never done anything like this before so it will be a big challenge for me luckily I have my mate martyn to help me with my 6 week training program and to climb the mountain with me. Please find it in your hearts to sponsor me and raise money for this much needed organization, because one day someone you know might need the help of the Neuro Surgeons and staff in the Neuro Department. Thanks Ian
