We are Bob Christman, Wallie Cullings, "Blackie" Blackburn, Steve Conquer and "Freddie" Kruger - and we are going to be doing the PARA 10 P Coy Challenge Race this year in benefit of SSAFA Forces Help.
The race, one of the toughest of it’s kind, is going to be held on 13September 2009.
The race will be held at Catterick Garrison over a gruelling 10 mile multi-terrain course which the team must complete within a set time to achieve the challenge. That sounds easy doesn’t it? Well, try doing that whilst carrying 35lbs on your back and over some of the wildest and most rugged ground that the Garrison training area can throw at you – and do it in under 1 hour 50 minutes!
That is what makes the PARA 10 P Coy Challenge one of the hardest. It’s a test of endurance, physical fitness and team spirit.
Our team deserve your support and encouragement because we know this is going to be one of the toughest things we have ever done. We’ve started our training and that’s already been pretty emotional!
We’ll do it easy in the end though because there’s no way we are going to let this beat us - but your support and donations really do help motivate us when the going gets really tough.
We’ll all really appreciate the support of everyone around us, it means a lot to know that people are cheering us on. We hope to make you all very proud, and at the same time raise a lot of money for SSAFA Forces Help to spend on their welfare work. Do make a donation, no matter how small, as every penny can help make a difference.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: SSAFA Forces Help gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
Thanks from Bob, Wallie, Blackie, Steve and Freddie
