I am walking Kilmanjaro in June 2010 in aid of the Northern Ireland Cancer fund for Children. I aim by then to have raised £4000. NICFC is a registered charity who provide respite care to parents with children suffering from Cancer/Leukaemia. The charity also provides aid to families to help with domestic bills during their children's treatment. The money we raise will be of particular benefit to Shimna Valley Holiday Home – the NICFC’s holiday respite facility based at the foot of the .  Money I raise will enable families to enjoy a week or weekend break at , during a break in their child’s treatment or at the end of their treatment.  Here families will be looked after by a team of dedicated staff and nurtured to enable them to face the challenges ahead of them.  Money raised will also support the Charity’s Log Cabin,  Narnia which was designed to promote independent living for teenagers living with cancer and is an excellent venue for children suffering from this disease to enjoy social activities and be supported by professional youth workers.
