Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 18th of August 2012 a group of five* "cyclists" will embark on a 600 mile cycle ride to raise money for Cancer Research UK. The journey will take us the long way round from Leeds, West Yorkshire to the Scottish capital, Edinburgh via England, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland. To the seasoned cyclist a trip of these proportions would be quite a challenge but to this bunch of rookies it might as well be climbing Everest.
We have been going through a fierce training regime over the past 12 months in order to prepare for this ordeal. Pasta has been eaten, pedals have been be turned and we're even gonna shave Phil to cut drag. You can follow our training and the event itself at endomondo**.
The tireless work of Cancer Research UK funded projects has already saved the lives of our families and friends and possibly yours too. However the fight against cancer must continue to advance and that won't happen without funding. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
*Currently five riders are confirmed but there is one place remaining. If you're feeling really stupid come and join us.
** Endomondo confirmed friends only I'm afraid - people keep stealing our bikes!
