My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the "3-peaks for Theo" JustGiving page.

WE DID IT!! The following group (plus Mike Slemen, Paul and Richard driving!) took on and conquered the task of climbing and descending the highest mountains in Wales, England and Scotland on 18th July 2010.

Not only that but Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis were conquered in just 24hrs!

Tiggy Allen, Sarah Hodson, Simon Morgan, Duncan Morris, Alex Richardson, Mima Seldon, Dave Slemen and Dan & Lucy Walker are raising money for the Theo Walker Fund (www.theowalkerfund.com).

All your donations in support of this event will be distributed directly to the Chase Kids Hospice. So far Theo's Fund has raised over £40,000 for Chase, the Brompton Fountain and Heartline since January 2010.

Theo was born on 20th November 2009 and died only four and half weeks later on 21st December 2009. Dan & Lucy, Theo's parents, had known about Theo's congenital heart condition, Pulmonary Atresia with intact ventricular septum before his birth. However it was only after Theo was born that it became clear that the planned operations to give Theo a chance at life were not possible. Palliative care for what remained of Theo's life was the only avenue.

After wonderful care in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit ('PICU') at The Royal Brompton Hospital, Dan & Lucy were able to bring Theo home for two unforgettable weeks. During this time Theo had a place reserved at CHASE's Christopher's hospice and received daily care at home from the CHASE Community Nurses and Doctors.

CHASE hospice cares for children who are not expected to live beyond their 19th birthday. They believe a child's time may be limited but their lives needn't be. Dan and Lucy know firsthand what an incredible charity Chase is and hope that you will help us raise much needed funds for them.
