Hello,
For fun and enjoyment, the team this year have chosen to complete the Welsh 3000s challenge on the 23rd June 2011. In order to complete the Welsh 3000s Challenge we are required to have been at the top of all 15 (or maybe 16) of the mountains over 3000 ft in Wales within the space of 24 hours, without using any form of transport.
The length is about 24 miles, but the walks to the start point and down from the finish point can take it to over 30 miles in total. A total ascent and descent of over 13000ft is also part of the fun! The challenge starts on top of the first peak and ends on the top of the final peak when our feet, legs and lungs have been taken to their limit.
For this years challenge, as a team we have chosen to support the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and are grateful for any sponsorship you can provide.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance began operations on 1st July 2007. Every day the Air Ambulance crew provide an efficient, prompt response to road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses, and many other incidents throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The Helicopter is called out many times per day, and these missions are often life saving.
Thank you for visiting our page and thank you for your support. Please return to this page and we'll keep you informed on our progress once we take up the challenge in Wales.
