Starting on Good Friday my aim is to try and run from Honiton in Devon to Looe in Cornwall in three days, finishing in Looe Easter Sunday, between 3pm and 4pm, the route equates to a marathon a day. Please have a look at the run website www.3forellie.org.uk which will be updated as time goes on.

Although I've tried a few mad things in my time, I've never attempted this kind of effort before and frankly it's going to be one of the toughest events that I've tackled. With business and other commitments, time for training will be limited, but if little Ellie can endure what she has in her three years, then I can try for three days.

Apart from obviously raising funds, the aim of my effort is to raise the profile of a very new and much needed South West charity "Ellie's Haven" and in doing so support Nigel & Julie Libby who had the dream of starting "a special place for special children", a desperately needed facility for Devon & Cornwall and named after their lovely daughter Ellie.

Many of us really believe in this cause that is gathering incredible momentum and with your help we can soon make it happen. Official surveys have indicated that the best part of 6,000 families here in Cornwall & Devon would benefit from the quality of life that Ellie's Haven will provide at what is, as I'm sure you can imagine, a most stressful time.

If you look at the Ellie's Haven web site, www.ellies-haven.org.uk you'll see that the ground to be built on has been donated by an exceptional gentleman, giving a tremendous start to a dream.

£700,000 will more or less enable Ellie's Haven to be constructed - together we can do it! and with any luck, this one of many efforts, might make the dream a reality.

My utmost thanks to customers, staff, family and friends for their support and encouragement, without which, little would be achieved.

Wishing you the best of health...............Alan
