The Back-Up Trust is a national charity that supports people; young or old with spinal cord injury.

My story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
Me & the boys are climbing Snowdon again to raise money for the Back Up Trust... and to defend our title. Last year we raced up to the summit of the 1086 metre mountain and back down again in just 3 hours... up and down. That was half an hour quicker than the second placed team who had won this event for the previous few years when it was held in the Lake District.
This year we aim to defend our title and hopefully break the 3 hour record we set last year and, of course, to raise lots of money for the Back Up Trust. There will be 10 of us in the team... me in my wheelchair & 9 of the boys to help pull, push & lift me up Wales' tallest peak... and back down again... in under 3 hours.
The event will take place on Saturday 24th May 2008. We will race from the community centre in Llanberis to the trig point on the summit of Snowdon and back down to the start again. There will be 15 teams, each including one wheelchair user, and they will start at 5 minute intervals.
The Back Up Trust is a national charity dedicated to providing opportunities for spinally injured and able bodied individuals to experience the buzz of outdoor activities together and so increase self belief, independence and motivation. They organise a varied programme of activity courses throughout the year. These courses act as a catalyst which can totally change someone's attitude towards disability and enable them to focus on how much is possible. Back Up does not think it is enough to tell a newly paralysed person what they are still capable of. They provide the environment, support and opportunity for people to prove it to themselves.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Back-Up Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me and the boys now!
