After 420 miles and lashings of “Udderly Smooth” cream,  the team has just arrived at the Olympic 2012 site – the final destination for the Three Men on a Bike Charity ride.

This week, the team (& Ollie their mascot) has endured horrendous weather, mountainous hills, nutter drivers, Ruth’s rolls, James’ punctures (or 5), all manner of guest riders (including Howard Jones, Sean and Terry & Simon from PMT), three evening in-store events, incompetent waiters and Simon’s ever growing beard.  Backed up with the support of Janine doing the dirty washing (!) while Dean did his Nick Kamen impression in the local laundrette, before shaving off his curls – all in the name of charidee!   All this is summed up on the daily blogs on www.threemenonabike.org/news.

On the 1st October 2010 I will be saddling up for a bike ride from Lands End to London with my colleagues from Roland UK Peter Heath and .

Cycling well over 400 miles seems like a slightly mad undertaking for me considering the sum of my previous cycling experience is pootling to the local sweet shop and back as a child.

It is a challenge, but it's a chance to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and Music For All (MFA) and we get fit and healthy at the same time!

I’d also like to add that the bike ride is not exclusive and some Roland partners and resellers have already signed up to come along for the ride. I hope it can be a chance to bring people from all parts of the music industry together to have some fun, get fit and raise some money for charity – so if you fancy it – get on your bike and join us! To get involved please contact Janine Newton-Howes on 01792 515002 or email janine.newton-howes@roland.co.uk

Please help The British Heart Foundation achieve the vision of a world in which people do not die prematurely of heart disease. Approximately 2.6 million people in the  are living with coronary heart disease (CHD). You, or someone you know, might be one of them.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a  taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - it raises more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
