Story

So it's actually happened!

Dave, Tom, Alex and I conquered the Three Peak Challenge in 23 hours.

We climbed the highest peak of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) within 24 hours. Our challenge included a cumulative height of 11, 178 ft, 765 km of travelling using very dubious transport, blistering, severe weather conditions and definite sleep deprivation.

MATCH REPORT: Absolutely destroyed BN in 3hrs 30 mins, Dave killed Fantastic Mr Fox at 40 mph and we fell out with mother Nature. Arrived at Scafell at 1.30 am in the pouring rain unable to see each other let alone take bearings from mountains, got lost from the break in the path and came into navigational crisis resulting in climbing a 150 ft water logged scree slope, two fake tantrums, a loss of moral from Alex and cries of "this is worse than Mount Doom" before making it halfway up the wrong peak. Completed Scafell in 6 hrs. Saved by our BN time, we made our way to Snowdon and cautiously made our way up in the rain, fog and overwhelming wind, scaring (a still guilty) Dave by nearly getting blown off the rock face several times in the process. Finished in just under 3 and a half hours, touched the sea in Caernarfon, followed by a large dinner and an early night.

In memory of Alasdair, we are using this as an opportunity to raise money for a brilliant mental health charity called 'SANE'. Alasdair, lost his three year battle with depression in January this year. The loss of Al shows just how unbearable life can become for sufferers of mental illnesses.

One in four people experiences a mental health problem; many more are touched by its impact.

We are aiming to raise as much money as we can, and any donation, however small, will help.
