Just thought I would update the page to thank all of you who have sponsored the team for the challenge and to let you know we succeeded.
We started the challenge outside the Youth Hostel at Ben Nevis at 5pm on Friday with the sun shining. After applying sun cream and sunglasses we crossed the starting point and at this stage it started to rain. It stopped raining as we finished Snowden 22hrs 30 mins later!!! During this time we experienced rain, driving rain, torrential rain, sleet and snow.
We can quite honestly say we have never experienced anything so mentally and physically demanding as this in our lives. The combination of lack of sleep and physical endurance made this experinece horrendous. We left Sheffield on Friday morning at 7.00am and arrived home on Saturday evening at 8.30pm so in total travelled for nearly 38 hrs with about 4 hrs sleep.
A special thankyou also needs to go to the drivers Keith Long and Richard Burrows. Without these guys we would not have been able to complete the challenge. Betwen them they drove the van for over a 1000 miles in 38hours and they barely had 4 hours sleep. Some would argue there challenge was harder.
So, in summary, did we enjoy it? No!!!! Will we be as stupid as to do anything like this again? NO!!!!
Were we pleased we did it? Not sure, ask us in a month!!!!!
We really do appreciate your support and the generosity for our chosen charity.
In the short space of time we posted the website we will have raised in excess of £1,300.

Hi and thanks for taking the time to logon to our fundraising page.
We have called ourselves the "Heavies over the Hill Hikers" ( 3 H's) after our founder and mentor Richard Heaviside. This was his great idea!!!!!!!!
To set the scene we are a group of forty somethings going through a midlife crisis and decided we needed to spice things up and set ourselves a challenge. The options discussed were; buy an expensive red sports car, ditch the wives and trade them in for younger models or set ourselves a challenge where we can raise some money for a worthy charity.
After realising that we could not afford the sports cars and we are all past it in terms of finding younger partners we decided the only option was to set ourselves a more realistic challenge.
The challenge set is to climb the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours starting on the 19th June at 5pm.
The charity we have chosen to represent is Amy's Retreat which was set up to allow families with children suffering or recovering from cancer to take a much needed break and give them quality time away from day to day routines. The charity is Sheffield based doing fantastic work supporting children with cancer and their families.
