UPDATE
Greg and Craig finished the British 10k race, aiming to finish it in 40 minutes in memory of Greg's dad Finlay.
Greg managed this in a blistering time of 38 mins 59 seconds, slicing over a minute off his Personal Best. Craig didn't manage it, but did his best and got a good time.
Your contribution meant that donations total around £1,500 - and with gift aid nonsense that means it's just over £2,000. We had aimed for £400. That money goes to the Princess Alice Hospice, where Finlay experienced the best care we could have possibly have wanted for him in his last days.
Greg's family are chuffed with the achievement - not just doing the race, but also the fact that the money you gave means that a lot more people will have the greatest of care at the time that it matters most.
There's not a better thing to say right now than thank you very much.
Finlay Kemp died peacefully in the Princess Alice Hospice on 28 March.
Greg and Craig will run the British 10k on 1st July 2007, for him. He would have challenged us to do more than just any old run, so we're going to complete it in 40 minutes or less.
Neither of us have ever gone this quick before.
We're going to raise much-needed dosh for his hospice - helping them provide astonishing care for others in the same cruel situation, easing the end for those with cancer who can't be saved. The NHS provides about 25% of its funds - and so every little contribution made adds up to provide most of their care.
Finlay is much missed and much loved. On 1st July we'll be running for him. But also for the family, and directly for others that will need help towards the end of their lives - and their relatives too.
The minimum for a runner to raise is £200. Now that there are two of us on this page, the minimum total is £400. Anything you can spare would be much appreciated by all of us.
