Story
Annmarie, Ginny, Jessica and Rachel (4321) and Sarah, Suzi, Tracy and Sam (Wait for me) are attempting The Three Yorkshire Peaks Challenge in aid of SSAFA on 14th August 2010!
Why?....
In September 2009 Annmarie’s brother, Simon was injured in Afghanistan, whilst serving with his regiment, The Light Dragoons.
He was flown to Selly Oak Hospital, where he stayed for three months. He is currently at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court, Surrey
During this time his family have stayed in Norton Homes, funded by SSAFA Forces Help
The two SSAFA Norton Homes provide short term accommodation so that families can stay nearby whilst visiting their loved ones at Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham and the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court, Surrey.
The homes are available 365 days a year and are run by dedicated on-site teams who are there to offer support, comfort and advice to those who stay.
In little more than a year, more than 600 people have stayed at the homes, including 150 of our soldiers, marines, airmen and sailors.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk is a very demanding walk, which takes in the summits of Pen-y-ghent (694 metres - 2,276 feet), Whernside (736 metres - 2,415 feet) and Ingleborough (723 metres 2,372 feet) all in one circular route.
The walk is 24.5 miles (39.2km) long and takes in over 5,000 feet (1,600 metres) of climbing.
We will attempt to join the ‘Three Peaks Club’ by completing the challenge within 12 hours
Whilst we will have alot of fun along the way this is a tough challenge for us and ask that you show your support by making a donation to SSAFA x
