Team 4SCBU (Simon, Ben, Anna, Elle, Jonathan, Mick, Gareth, Nik and Sonny) are taking part in the Tough Mudder Yorkshire on 7th September 2013 to raise money for the Rotherham Hospital Special Care Babies Unit. For those of you who don't know, the Tough Mudder is a 12 mile off road race, through mud, water, ice, fire and swamp with 25 special forces style obstacles along the way. We will be climbing, wading, crawling, falling, frozen, burned, electrocuted, beaten, battered and broken to the point of exhaustion and that's probably just by the halfway point!
It's all nothing compared to what some new born babies and their families have to go through. The doctors, nurses and staff at Rotherham Special Care Babies Unit do marvelous work and are a credit to the hospital. The Rotherham Hospital Charity raises money for the hospital to provide enhanced services to the patients at the hospital. Products and services that NHS funds cannot cover such as specialist training, the most upto date and advanced equipment available, refurbishment of facilities and toys, learning materials and activities for infants and children at the hospital.
We are hoping to raise some money to be put towards helping improve the facilities at the SCBU, to help the staff their continue their fantastic work. We are asking that you can donate as much as you can spare to help us achieve this goal. We promise to do the hard bit, we'll run through the mud, climb the walls, crawl through the swaps, be frozen, electrocuted and generally abused, all you have to do is dig deep and donate what you can.
