Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 3 October my son Liam and I are participating in the 500 miles Challenge at the EICC in Edinburgh. This is in aid of a charity set up by my wife Olivia Giles which aims to provide help for people in Malawi and Zambia who have lost limbs. It costs only £100 for a life changing operation and around £60 for a prosthetic device. Both of these can transform lives by allowing people to walk again. The charity is called 500 miles (after the Proclaimer's song) and more information about it can be found at www.500miles.co.uk.
The event on 3 October is not too taxing! Between 11.10am and 7.30 pm (at one minute intervals), 500 different groups will each walk one mile on a course set up at Festival Square and Conference Square. The taxing bit is working out how we will do our mile. Fancy dress? Three legged? Any suggestions gratefully received!
So please try to support this really worthwhile cause by sponsoring Liam and me. Even a little helps - and all of the money collected goes straight to the charity.
