Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For my fundraising challenge this year I am running 5k (3 miles) EVERY day throughout 2013. I am not sure that this will be physically possible for me as I'm just your average fat bloke, but I'm gona give it one hell of a go!

Im raising funds for the Dorothy House Hospice who work tirelessly to support those with terminal diagnoses and their families. A colleague of ours recently passed away and I want to support those who supported him!

Day 356: Only 9 days left. Last time I was in single figures was January 9th!!!

22/12/13 17:39

Amazing month! went through the 200 day mark, the 1000 kilometre distance and the 7 month point! But more amazingly Ive smashed my fundraising target 5 months early and am now sitting at 111% of that target I set on 1st Jan! Thank you all, I couldn't have done it without you!

01/08/13 12:26

Well that's 6 months. 181 days. Two triathlons. 956km. 90416 calories! I've made it to half way! I won't lie and say it has been easy - if any of you have listened to me moaning you'll know it hasn't.The best/worst part of it all....I GOTTA DO ALL THAT AGAIN!

30/06/13 21:33

Yesterday I did my 7x 5k runs in one day mini challenge. I started at 6.30am and finished at 12 midday. I ran them as 7 separate runs with little breaks in between but even with the rests I found it really hard going towards the end. I did run today and all I'm saying is ...OUCH!

15/06/13 23:22

Ok so that's my last run done before tomorrows big challenge! x7 5K RUNS IN ONE DAY! Please text, facebook or tweet me at some point tomorrow morning to help keep me going. I'm gonna need it!!!

Dorothy House Foundation Ltd

Dorothy House Foundation Ltd

Charity Registration No. 275745

Dorothy House Hospice Care supports 1,500 families affected by cancer and other life threatening conditions every year. It is the only charity providing free specialist nursing care at home for people with life-threatening illness in Bath,Wiltshire and Somerset. Most patients are looked after in their own homes, but short-term care, out-patient and day patient services are provided at the hospice in Winsley. All care is provided free of charge, but Dorothy House receives only about 30% of its funding from the NHS. This year, after NHS funding, more than £7,000 a day must be raised to continue to provide these services.
