We inspire, inform and empower people to stop wild animals going extinct.

Story

After running Brighton Marathon and taking part in ZSL London Zoo’s Stampede last year, this year I have decided to take fundraising to the next level. The result? The 6 Tiger Challenge.

The 6 Tiger Challenge is a series of six charity challenges to be completed within the space of a year. The six challenges represent the six remaining sub-species of Tiger surviving in the wild today; Sumatran, Amur, Indian, Indochinese, South China and Malayan.

All funds raised will be split equally between 21st Century Tiger and ZSL for their on-going contribution to tiger conservation. 21st Century Tiger raises funds for wild tiger conservation projects with over £1.9million already donated to over 130 individual proposals for 70 tiger projects in seven countries worldwide. This initiative project works closely with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). There are an estimated 3, 200 tigers left in the wild today – we need organisations like these more than ever to ensure the survival of the world’s favourite animal (as voted in an Animal Planet poll). Find out more about 21st Century Tiger and ZSL and their work with wild tigers here:

The idea is to treat the 6 Tiger Challenge as an overall challenge and event; I do not expect people to donate for each of the 6 challenges. However, if you feel the need to do so I will not say no! ;)

The first official challenge will be the London Marathon on 21 April, and will conclude with an ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro in December. Other challenges include the London to Brighton Challenge, the Three Peaks Challenge and a skydive, which might not seem like much of a challenge, but I am terrified of heights!

As well as the main 6 challenges, I will also be taking part in a number of other events including Milton Keynes Half Marathon in March, the ZSL Whipsnade Zoo 10km Stampede in May and the ZSL London Zoo 10km Stampede in September. Please check back for updates or look at the 6 Tiger Challenge Facebook and Twitter pages for all challenge/event news, as well as general Tiger conservation updates:

I would like to thank you in advance for your support and donations. Tigers need our support more than ever, but we can only make a difference if we work together.
