Welcome! Chances are you know who I am already, but if you don’t let me introduce myself. My name is Danny Pledger. I’m a roller coaster enthusiast, I work at Adventure Island and I like doing things for charity. In the past I’ve done a few charity events, most notably a Green Scream Marathon: 12 hours on the Green Scream roller coaster at Adventure Island, and a Rage Relay: Five people occupying two seats on the Rage roller coaster for the duration of a park open day in a ‘relay’ style, which amounted to about five hours on the ride.
What I’m embarking on now is a new challenge, a tough test of endurance and stamina. I’m not a walker. I don’t go rambling. What I am preparing to do will push my body to the limit. The longest I have walked in one trip before starting training for this is twenty five miles, and that was over three days. I plan to walk from Rage to Saw - approximately 60 miles - as quickly as possible. I have no idea how long it will take me.
Of course, I wouldn’t just walk sixty miles for no reason at all. I’m doing it to raise money for Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation. What I am going to need is support and sponsorship - so please sponsor me!
