Temwa

Temwa is an organisation that raises funds to implement community-based projects in Malawi, southern Africa. Temwa is based in an area called Usisya, on the north shore of Lake Malawi. This remote area has no electricity, no running water and is severely affected by the AIDS epidemic. Due to poor road and telecommunications infrastructure, public services and other relief efforts are very limited. Overseen by a project Manager in Malawi, Temwa runs a series of programmes that are aimed at proving sustainable, community-driven development in four key areas: Health education, Skills development, Agriculture and irrigation and Schools support. In the future Temwa plans to establish similar schemes in other parts of Malawi.

My story

Please help us raise some money for Temwa, a Bristol based organisation that raises money to implement sustainable community-led development projects in Malawi, Africa.

We’re cycling from Bristol to Devizes and back! The route is roughly 80 miles along the Bristol to Bath Cycle Path to join Kennet and Avon Canal in Bath all the way to Devises.

Any donation would be most gratefully received and we promise not to spend a penny of it on Cider...or padded cycling shorts!

Donating through Justgiving is the easiest way to sponsor us and if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
