My story

 

Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my fund raising page.

 

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Kirsty and I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October 2003 at the age of 33. That’s where the journey began! I went on to have a Lumpectomy, and then further surgery to remove my Lymph Nodes, Chemotherapy for 6 months, followed by a Mastectomy and Reconstruction and now Tamoxifen for 5 years.

The Amazon Heart Thunder Ride is a 1,000 mile ride from Aviemore in Scotland to London on brand new Harley-Davidson motorbikes, to raise awareness and support for Breast Cancer. 

It will be a great challenge for me as I have never ridden a Motorbike before. I have so far passed my CBT, theory test and as of 20th June 2007 I passed my bike test on a 125cc, so I know I have a busy few months ahead of me to get me ready for the ride in August.

I am looking forward to participating with all the other riders and raising awareness about Breast Cancer along the way.

 

This year's UK ride will run from Aviemore to London from August 26 - September 1 and will benefit Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity as well as Amazon Heart Trust UK.
