Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I am giving the knees a rest from the Great North Run and am trying a new challenge on two wheels.
On 20th September I shall be taking to the high roads and low roads around Campbeltown for the Mull of Kintyre Sportive. I am doing this challenge with my good friend Alison who is from Campbeltown. It was only after I agreed to join her that she told me about all the hills round there!! In fact I have just discovered that we are doing what is called The Ultimate/Killer route. Still I'm sure we'll have a wee dram of their whisky to celebrate when we finish.
Macmillan is the chosen charity of the sportive but one close to my heart as I know of the valuable work and support that MacMillan nurses give. I shall be doing this ride in memory of the many family members, friends and customers who have passed away in recent years but also as a celebration of their lives. I know when I did the Great North Run two years ago on a cold wet September morning it was this that really kept me going to the finish line. So dig deep and any donation is really appreciated.
Update: the ride is now complete and my knees can have a well earned rest from the hills over the winter. Many thanks for all the donations. I am still collecting until the end of October for Macmillan so still time to give at a show or online.
