Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page. Ellie has Rett Syndrome and our wish for her is nothing short of a cure.

Ellie was born in June 2002, she was a happy, healthy little girl taking her first steps and starting to babble her first words but soon after that Ellie started to have seizures. Next, she lost the use of her hands; she could no longer pick up her toys, feed herself or reach out to be picked up. We soon realised there was a serious problem with our beloved little girl. Nine months of hospital appointments and tests which we prayed and hoped would point out a problem that was easily fixed resulted in the devastating news that our little girl had Rett Syndrome. Shortly after this diagnosis Ellie stopped walking and talking altogether. To be told that there was no cure for this condition broke our family's hearts.

However, a few years on while still trying to come to terms with this life changing news we were made aware that Rett Syndrome had been reversed in a mouse model. No longer was this condition thought to be incurable. Rett Syndome could well be the world's first curable brain disorder. Raising money towards crucial research is now all that stands between bringing this cure to our little girl and others like her. Please help us get Ellie back....its all we wish for
