So I have reached the grand old age of fifty and I wanted to set myself a physical challenge to help me get fit and helathy for the years ahead.

Sue and  I work for the charity 4Children running Surestart Children's Centres across Wiltshire who support the most vulnerable families make a better life for themselves and their children. As for most services our money has been cut and we wanted to help the 16 Wiltshire Centres jumpstart their fundraising. Each centre will decide what they want to spend the money according to the needs of the families in their community. So for one centre they need money to improve their outdoor area and build raised beds so parents and children can grow vegetables. Another centre need equipment for their sensory room for disabled children.

Sue and I have started our training and are already up to 8 miles walking ( about 3 hours) we need to be able to walk for 8 hours easily .

We will be walking 'deep into the heart of the highlands of North Vietnam through remote hill villages'
