Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page to raise money for Action for Children in Conflict (Afcic).
We will be cycling 40km in Buckinghamshire. As cycling novices this will be a challenge for us!
What brings all us novices together is that we'd like to do something to get you to dig in your pockets and help AFCiC in Kenya, a really inspirational charity with an even more inspirational and dedicated director in our friend Eleanor.
It's been a tough year in Kenya with food crops lost and prices increasing as well as the death of one of the charities supported children just at a turning point in his life. We would love to make sure this doesn't happen again and do everything possible to generate more funds to enable more children and families to benefit from the work Eleanor does to support education and development of sustainable livlihoods for the poorest families in the Thika community. Above all to ensure as few children as possible suffer as a result of the hardship faced by many in Kenya today.
Your donation can make a big difference to the lives of these kids.
£5 would buy art materials for a creative therapy kit
£7 would buy a food package for a family
£10 would provide a child with a school uniform
£15 would buy a desk for a school (children have to pay for their own desk in the most poor schools)
£20 would give a child in our interim care centre 3 meals every day for a month

Training updates
Sophie - Hasn't ridden a bike in 7 years and even then it was a challenge, has decided stabilisers might be necessary..
Sharan - Occasionally rides the pretend bikes at the gym. Went cycling last week and fell off at high speed on a hill! Still needs to find out where to hire one from.
Go on - we'll post photos of us in our helmets and bruises after we've finished.
