My story
Tyler was born a perfect little boy but sadly he was diagnosed with a rare genetic liver disease Alpha1 Antitrypsin Deficiency! I guess you might wonder what this is as nothing is really known about it. Basically the liver traps Alpha1 (or the body does not produce any) and prevents it getting the lungs to protect them. The result is that both the liver and the lungs become damaged. Over time in the majority of cases the liver and lungs will become so damaged that they will need transplanting. For any family this is a very worrying diagnosis. We have been lucky to have the support of this the only UK charity for this disease!
If you would like to donate, it will be very gratefully received as the charity receives no government funding, only donations from the small amount of people who are affected by Alpha1
