This is just to let you know that Georgie and I have safely returned from Tanzania. We are delighted to be able to tell you we reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro on Sunday 8:10 am after 7 days of trekking.Your messages of support and encouragement really helped us to reach the summit of the highest free standing mountain in the world.
Our two charities are so grateful for your generosity and we're nudging closer to our target of £10,000 each. If anyone would like to donate the site will be open until november thank you once again.Ali

Georgie and I are climbing Kilimanjaro on the 14th August to raise money for two charities that we both support: The Afghan Connection and The Rainbow Trust. As part of our preparation for this challenge we are climbing the 3 highest peaks in the UK.

We have decided to raise funds for the Afghan Connection because both my Prep. School and my Senior School support this charity and they are both also twined with schools in Afghanistan.
Afghan Connection runs projects in health and education in Afghanistan and has a twin school project linking 17 Afghan schools to UK schools. It has been building schools in rural areas of Afghanistan since 2002 . By the end of last year they had funded 30 school constructions.
Aswell as building schools, The Afghan Connection is bringing cricket to schools across Afghanistan . They have built 3 concrete wickets and have 6 more funded, and have provided kit to many schools across the country. They hope to do much more and any help would be greatly appreciated.
