My story
'When I'm 64'...
... thanks to that Beatles song I always felt that being 64 ought to be momentous. So I'm off to Rwanda to do the Msaada Charity trek - 10 kilometres over rough hilly terrain in baking heat! Ha ha and I'm no walker - used to be nippy on the tennis court yes, but these boots (or rather joints!) definitely aren't made for walking. Till now I'd only ever go that far in my Clio, or on my Pensioner's Bus Pass! Yet now I'm in cold winter training, half killing myself at Zumba classes, and walking absolutely miles to the wine bar!!
So please do support this oh so worthy cause otherwise I'll just be knackered for knothing!!
Being an independent woman myself, I so admire these brave widowed survivors of the horrific 1994 genocide. They are rebuilding their traumatized lives from absolutely nothing and achieving dignity through self-sufficiency. See their courageous efforts and success so far at www.masada.org
