When I lived in Cote d'Ivoire, a vicious civil war broke out, leading to a decade of on-off fighting. Now the war's over, the Halo Trust is helping collect and destroy weapons to reduce the chances of the country sliding back into violence. The Halo Trust has destroyed 1,300 firearms and 13 tonnes of ammunition. Cote d'Ivoire is just one of many countries around the world, like Afghanistan, Cambodia and Colombia, where the Halo Trust is helping dispose of land mines and weapons left behind by war. That's why I'm asking you to sponsor me to run the Marine Corps Marathon, to help the Halo Trust continue its work.  

Where HALO has cleared minefields and battlefields, farmers are now planting their crops, homes and roads are being rebuilt, and children walk to school, secure in the knowledge that their next step will be a safe one. This is thanks to supporters like you.
