The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

2009 marks my 7th consecutive year, and Gail's 4th year, of fund raising for Guide Dogs.  As I said last year, we have not found a more worthy charity that really challenges the participants in their fundraising events.  This year our challenge is to ride the three Alpine stages of this year's Tour de France in six days followed by a 40 km time trial around Lake Annecy on the 7th day.  I believe that completing the challenge is, in a very small way, similar to the exhilaration and incredible sense of accomplishment a blind or partially sighted person feels when they  are able to complete their daily tasks with the help of their first guide dog.  A truly life-changing experience.   Your contributions will help others have this life-changing experience.   Please be generous.  Thank you.

Note:  Gail and I are contributing an amount that will cover our costs for the week so every pound you contribute will go directly to the work of The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
