Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On September 20th and 18th October I will be taking part in half marathon runs (The Great North Run in Newcastle and the Cardiff half marathon) in order to raise much needed funds for the Wales Air Ambulance service. Due to its widely scattered population and diverse landscape, many in Wales live in isolated locations far from an accident and emergency service - along with many other reasons there is a need for three helicopters to be on active duty 365 days a year. The cost of running the service is £5 million a year and as a registered charity the service is completely dependant on public donations, and does not receive any support from the national lottery or government. So - I am on a personal mission to help keep this fantastic service in the air!
This will be my 3rd time taking part in the Great North Run and my 1st time in Cardiff. I expect to suffer a little bit in Newcastle as I've not trained as much as I would have liked - however I hope to be fully race fit by the October run. Regardless of my lack of training I promise you I will finish both runs even if I have to crawl over the finish line....and I will provide you with photographic evidence of my 'glowing' face of victory - which no doubt will be reason enough for you to contribute generously :-)
