Story

Let’s go round again!!!! – Cue for a song?

Who was it that said never say never?  Someone with great insight I think.

After having the most wonderful experience of my life training for, taking part in and completing last years 10 Marathons in 10 Days Challenge, (you can see a link to my video on the left of the page) I thought why not?  Let’s go around again!

You can follow my progress on this year's journey and daily reports during the event on my blog at

www.brathaywindermeremarathon.org.uk/blog/alyson-knowles-10-in-10.aspx

I have said before I need a challenge to motivate me to keep fit and well.  I have not come across anything else that ‘lights the fire within my belly’ as much as taking part in the Brathay 10 in 10 Challenge - running 10 times around Lake Windermere in 10 consecutive days.  An official marathon distance of 26.32 miles each day – 262 miles in total.  In the process, the fact that I am able to raise funds for Brathay’s work with disadvantaged Young People and knowing that my sponsorship is used in my local community is rewarding.

My experience is sure to be different this year.  I think it will be harder because I know what’s in store for me.  I am no longer ‘the fat lass at the back’ now there is a greater expectation to do well.  This will only motivate me more.  Believe me I will still give it 100% commitment because of the difference I know it makes to my life and the lives of people around me.  Many friends and family members have been inspired to take up running, some even completing a marathon themselves!  How good is that?

Hopefully you too will be inspired by my story and support my fundraising campaign.  Any donation small or large will be most gratefully received.
