My friends and I have taken up the challenge of transporting ourselves across the vastness of India in its most entertaining yet unpredictable form of road transport; the humble auto-rickshaw! (please have a look at the pictures if you have no idea what the 149cc beast looks like!)
We will be travelling approximately 3,000km, for two weeks in late March, from Cochin in Kerala to Gangtok in Sikkhim, near the Nepalese and Chinese borders, up the East coast of India for charity. Frank Water (www.frankwater.com) is a fantastic charity that helps fund vital water purification and sustainable projects all over India. In a world where more than 4,000 children die every day from a lack of clean water, it’s clear that help is urgently needed. Just £2.50 per year can provide clean drinking water for a person.
I hope you can donate us as much as you can for this good cause as it will inspire us to fight through the sore bottoms and dodgy stomachs till we reach the finish line!
