I did it!!!
I ran the Sahara Marathon along with 256 people in the energy-zapping heat of the desert. It took me 5 hours and 2 minutes. I spent an amazing week with a fantastic refugee family. Their warmth and generosity was second to none. I have learnt a lot more about the struggles of the Saharawis and it has made me more determined than ever to do what I can to help them. Their situation is very unjust and it is about time the International Community pulled its weight and did something about it.
I would love it if you could help me out. Any size donation to Sandblast and the people of the Western Sahara would be very much appreciated.
I would also really like you to go to the Sandblast website - www.sandblast-arts.org to see what it is all about (or at www.saharamarathon.org to find out even more). The Saharawis need as many people to know about them as possible.
And if you are interested in running next year or know anyone who might be interested then please do spread the word and please do get in touch with me. I would thoroughly recommend it.
Thanks a million!
