Story
Cancer affected my life twice this year, in ways I didn’t expect and at times I was least prepared. My father in law passed away, my mother was cleared, and I overcame my fear of dealing with the chilling subject. So I volunteered to organise a sponsored walk for Cancer Research UK. Exercise and healthy lifestyle are best way to prevent cancer. What’s better than an energising walk in Chiltern countryside, having a lovely day out with family and friends, whilst raising money for a good cause? Over the Hill Family Fun Walk is local to Amersham and brand new this year. We hope that people will really get behind it to make it a great local event! The 5 miles walk is accessible for the whole family, where dads are welcome and a fancy dress might be a great way to engage young people with walking in the countryside as part of their healthy lifestyle. People may want to bring a picnic and to take part as part of a team. You could even try and win the ‘Best Dressed’ prize on the day! Cancer affects one in three people at some stage in their lives, and via family and friends it touches every one. So please dig deep and donate now. Thanks.
