Dear All,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know I am hoping to go to Kenya in the summer of 2011 to work with Footstepsuk.org. (http://www.footstepsuk.org). To do this I need to raise funds to take me there and to fund projects that the charity will be doing at the time. It will also contribute to giving the children some respite from the daily trials they face by engaging in fun and creative activities.
For my fundraising challenge I aim to cycle 1000km over the next 6 months through a mix of cycling in the gym and around Richmond Park.
Thanks for all your support. xx
FOOTSTEPS UK
'Footsteps for Africa’ is a UK based charity that helps young people living in the desperately poor communities near Lake Victoria, Kenya. It is run entirely voluntarily and every penny raised goes to fund its work. AIDS is a massive threat to the many that live there, and as you will see in the video that I've posted, many young children are orphaned and forced to look after a whole family by themselves. Footsteps provides these children with the opportunity to reach their potential as individuals and become healthy, educated, self-sufficient and valuable members of their communities through helping to build school facilities and related projects.
Please see some of the attached photos and videos to see some of the great work they do.
Every time I cycle 100km I'll let you know just so that you can see the progress:
Leaving tomorrow and finished my 1000km!! Thanks everyone for your support!
