I am a 29 year old from Cheslyn Hay in Staffordshire married to my wonderful wife Hayley, daddy to 2 year old Henry and with a second baby on the way (due on 30th April 2012). 

I will be running in the Lichfield half marathon on 6th May 2012 (very close to Hayley's due date I know!) 

In June 2011 I decided that my unhealthy life style was not a good example to set to my son and watching my Grandad losing his long and hard fought battle with kidney failure showed me that life is too short and I should make more effort to be fit and healthy. The time had come to lose some weight and get fit.

In 6 months I have gone from almost 18 stone and unable to run a mile to just under 14 stone and able to run a 10KM race in less than an hour. There is a long way to go but each day brings an improvement and a fresh challenge.
