Thanks a million to everyone who sponsored me. I completed the run today in 2hr 15min. It was tougher than I thought and I now feel a lot older and somewhat wiser. It was great to see so many people running for their favourite causes and nice to see people acknowledging Somerset Wildlife Trust as a ran past.

For many years I have been a spectator as thousands of people have donned there running shoes, challenged themselves to get fit and raised money for their favourite charity through one of the many fundraising events that have become such a popular part of modern culture. After 20 years working in the charity sector, what excuse did I have for not getting involved?

 

Since moving to Somerset last year, massively reducing my daily commute I no longer had the excuse of lack of time. Getting fit before I turn fifty also seemed a suitable ambition. So I will be tackling the Taunton half marathon on Sunday 3^rd of April and in doing so help raise funds for Somerset Wildlife Trust. Check out the video! I will not be dressed in any type of animal suit or pushing a wheelbarrow! Getting round in regulation running gear will suit me just fine.
