Hello
I am going to continue my support for the Multiple Sclerosis Respite centres by running in several endurance runs and courses throughout 2011. All designed to test a person to there physical, endurance and mental limits with obstacles to overcome such as scottish hills, freezing rivers, night running, barbed wire, fire and electrocution to name a few! I hope to raise money to help give MS suffers receive the comfort and care they deserve at these centres and at alternative venues throughout the UK.
My first race will be for the Woodlands Respite centre in York and will be the ‘Mighty Deerstalker 2011’ at Tranquair House, Peeblesshire: 19th March 2011 “It's fast, it's action-packed and it's as tough as you can bear. The Laird welcomes you to the Tweed Valley where water and mountains will give you pain and pleasure in the equal measure”
"A 10km race in total but the second loop of 5km (and a bit) will be tougher than the first - rock and scree, sharper ascents and the added element of the dark to contend with...! As the lead runner reaches the high point of the course darkness will have fallen and he/ she will light the Deerstalker homecoming firework atop the mountain, to show all those awaiting their return in the event village that they are homeward bound. The bangs and whizzes will punctuate the night as the racers make their way back to Traquair in the eerie half-light of their head torches"
Thank you for your support
