Action for M.E. works to end the ignorance, injustice and neglect people with M.E. experience. Our children's services offer support and information to children and young people with M.E., their families and carers carrying on the vital work of AYME, the Association of Young People with M.E.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the Great South Run for A.Y.M.E, a charity set up to support young people affected by M.E.

My sister has been ill with M.E. (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) since 1999 when she was 23. Due to the debilitating nature of this illness Sarah has not been able to work for 10 years and her "social life" has been limited to 10 minute slots each day to have visits at her house with friends and family. Anything more than this is too strenuous for Sarah and makes her condition worse. Every year thousands of young people develop M.E, for which there is no cure. The Association of Youth with M.E. provides a range of support and information to young people. For my sister this offered a life line, enabling her to meet other sufferers whose life have been disrupted by this devastating and hugely misunderstood illness.

I hope to raise £500 to help A.Y.M.E. continue this great work, and to help raise awareness of M.E.
