Every year we support thousands of children and families right across the country. We provide rehabilitation to help children make the best recovery possible after a serious accident or illness, both at our national specialist centre in Tadworth and in the community.

Story

Over the last 12 years I have taken up so many different fundraising challenges for The Children's Trust. I am not very athletic and my school friends will tell you I was always absolutely terrible at sports at school. But will all challenges it really is mind over matter and I feel proud of my inner strength and determination that I have shown over the years and the fact I will never ever give up on my dreams.

Running the London Marathon was definitely one of the best days of my life. I also loved trekking through the Panama jungle even though to the amusement of my fellow trekkers I fell over at least 50 times .

This year I will be taking part in my first Triathlon at Hever Castle on my birthday on the 24th September. Swimming 1/2 mile around a muddy moat; cycling 12 hilly miles; finishing off with a 5 mile run. Good grief I must be totally mad! In October for some reason I seem to be running the Great South Run (10 miles) and the Royal Parks Half Marathon.

I have lupus so sometimes training can be hard but thinking about all the challenges the children at the Trust face every single day puts things into perspective. I actually now enjoy getting up at 6am on a Saturday morning to go Tri Swimming Training . Mad I know !

I am very passionate about the work of The Children's Trust and every day feel so inspired to help more children with disabilities around the UK. Seeing a child walk for the first time after an accident is so humbling and every single time I am privileged to witness this absolutely moves me to tears.

In a moment a families life can change forever - whether it is a parent being told their baby will be born with a profound disability or another family hearing that their child has been knocked down by a car and may never walk again. The Children's Trust are there for so many of those families and I can hand on heart say that I know that all the money raised by fundraising will make a life changing difference to so many children. So please can I ask you to donate at least £2 to help The Children's Trust carry out the incredible work we do.

Thank you .

Angiex
