I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated so far.  It really was a huge boost to know that so many people supported the fantastic cause that is the RNLI.  I had a great time, and am glad to have raised so much money to help save lives at sea.

I am 19 years old and in a gap year between school and university.  I have now finished kayaking over 1,000km from Cardiff to Inverness, following the Welsh coast from Cardiff, through the Menai Straits and along the north coast.  From there I carried on up the west coasts of England and Scotland as far as Ardrishaig, on Loch Gilb (level with Glasgow on a map).  From here I took the Crinan Canal to Crinan, and then continued north past Oban as far as Fort William, where I took the Caledonian Canal to Inverness.

The RNLI saves an average of 23people a day, and while I hope never to call upon the service they provide, it is a great comfort to know they are out there, and I would be very grateful for any donation you would be willing to make.

Thank you very much to everyone who has already donated, particularly those who I cannot thank in person.  The messages were all very supportive, and it was a huge confidence boost knowing that there were so many people out there willing to give, so a huge thank you to everyone.

I am funding the whole of the trip myself, so all donations will go to the RNLI.
