<p>Next summer I have the opportunity of travelling to Uganda with the Lasallian Developing World Projects (LDWP).</p>
<p><em>LDWP has been working in developing countries for over 25 years and carry out small sustainable development projects focussed on improving education opportunities for those who would otherwise struggle to access education.</em><br><em>The projects last 5 weeks over the summer and are made up of 12 young people from all across the UK working with the local people.</em></p>

<p><strong>Next summer I will be travelling to the small town of Kagadi in Uganda a new town for LDWP, working on the construction of a classroom block for a local primary school. A project was previously started there (not by LDWP) but it ran out of money, so the foundations have already been built and we're going to finish it.</strong></p>

<p>I have various friends who have taken part in similar LDW Projects in India, Uganda and Rwanda and they have found the projects to be an amazing experience, due to both the wonderful impact they've been able to have on other peoples lives, and the impact the projects and people they've met along the way have had on them!</p>

<p><strong>I will be staying in simple accomodation within the community for 5 week in the summer of 2012. I will be involved with the building work and will get the opportunity to do some teaching in the local school.</strong><br><strong>The journey to Uganda, the accommodation and a contribution towards the building materials will cost £1,100 which each participant has to raise for themselves.</strong></p>
